There was a bit of shuffling and some surprises for the October votes for the Top Ten. Spock's Beard moved up one notch with a commanding lead for Snow, and Blindside slipped from the top slot to number six. Newsboys slipped from three to five with Thrive, and Wilco moves from number nine to number three. The ties are the interesting surprises: for number two, Tom Petty's The Last DJ and Wilco, and Sunny Day Real Estate's How It Feels to Be Something On, tied U2, technically moving All That You Can't Leave Behind up one spot. Absent from last month's survey are Pillar, P.O.D., and Sixteen Horsepower (and this is the first time in months that neither Bill Mallonee nor VoL are in the Top Ten or runners-up), and new this month are Dave Matthews Band, Chevelle and Peter Gabriel. Remember to vote in the November 2002 Phantom Tollbooth survey, and here are the results from the October 2002 survey. 1. Spock's Beard - Snow
