Top 10 for July 2002

Vigilantes of Love has been a long-time favorite for The Phantom Tollbooth's Top 10, and talk about staying power--Bill Mallonee's Fetal Position registers a commanding vote for the top position in this month's poll. Also within the Top 10 is VoL's Resplendant Audibly Live, in a tie for number six. Mallonee is in the runners-up column with My Year in Review. Returning to the Top 10 are Beki Hemingway (in a tie for number three with the Red Hot Chili Peppers), Weezer, and Pedro the Lion. Slipping out of the number one position (and amazingly, out of the runners-up) is Pillar's Fireproof, and newcomers to this month's survey are Brandston, the 77's, MeWithoutYou, and Making God Smile, the Brian Wilson tribute.  Here are the results from the July Phantom Tollbooth survey:

1. Bill Mallonee - Fetal Position
2. Brandston - Dial In Sounds
3. Beki Hemingway - Words for Loss for Words
3. Red Hot Chili Peppers - By the Way
5. Weezer - Maladroit
6. 77's - Direct
6. Vigilantes of Love - Resplendant Audibly Live
8. MeWithoutYou - A->B Life
8. Various Artists - Making God Smile: Brian Wilson Tribute
10. Pedro the Lion - Control
