Top 10 for August 2003

The votes are cast for the August 2003 Phantom Tollbooth Top 10, and there are some major changes, close calls, and two ties. Out of the Top 10 from the July survey are Radiohead, Coldplay, U2, Sixpence, and The Appleseed Cast. And after quite awhile without Bill Mallonee or VoL, Mallonee's new Perfumed Letter debuts at number one! Other newcomers for this month's survey are Mark Heard, Bruce Cockburn, and Over the Rhine. Returning to the Top 10 are Steve Taylor (two months in a row for Squint), Pedro the Lion, and Beki Hemingway. Lost Dogs' Nazarene Crying Towel moved from the ninth slot to number two, and Starflyer 59 moves up one notch to number three. Once again, make sure to vote in the September 2003 survey, and here are the results of the August 2003 Top 10 survey:

1. Bill Mallonee - Perfumed Letter
2. Lost Dogs - Nazarene Crying Towel
3. Mark Heard - Hammers and Nails
