epic-season-till-darkness-falls-to-dawnEpic Season dials into several sounds that are popular right now and pulls off a great little diverse ep.

Title: Till Darkness Falls to Dawn
Artist: Epic Season
Label: Independent
Time: 6 tracks/29:32 min.

Didn’t I hear Epic Season in some technology commercial recently? Maybe not, but they certainly have dialed into that sound that is hot in the television advertisement world right now… and they pull it off well enough to actually make it work. I could easily see the song “Keep Warm” playing behind some hipsters happily playing with their hot new smartphone. This short ep has more than your average level of diversity contained in five songs – upbeat happy rockers mixed with slower ballads, male and female lead vocals, and multiple modern influences (One Republic, Snow Patrol, Mutemath, Arcade Fire, etc) all mix together in a really short amount of time. If they can pull this off for an entire album without killing the diversity or going too far all over the map, this band will go places.
