sacrament-haunsts-coverRetroactive Records brings back a classic thrash album from 1992. Sacrament's second album has been given new life in this new Legacy Edition.

Title: Haunts of Violence (Legacy Edition)
Artist: Sacrament
Label: Retroactive Records
Time: 10 tracks/48:24 min.

Retroactive Records has brought two more classic metal releases back from beyond. Sacrament was a mainstay in the Christian metal scene back in the day, with Haunts of Violence being their second label release. Compared at times to Slayer and Death, they really had their own unique sound which was a bit heavier than your typical thrash band.

I haven’t really compared this re-issue to the original 1992 version, but I can tell you that is sounds better than the original on the first listen. It’s just that noticeable. The CD is packaged in a digipak with not much to it, but you do know you can find most of that online now, right?

Also a note for those that are into these things, the logo on the front has been changed for the re-issue. The original 1992 issue was a retro-throw back to the logo they used on their original Presumed Dead demo. The 2014 Retroactive Edition swaps that logo for the one they used on their first label album Testimony of Apocalypse. Not that big of a deal for me, but purists might want to know that.

Since both of Sacrament's label albums are being re-issued at the same time, the change makes sense. This is a must have album if you are into classic nineties thrash.
