Title: A Priori Memoriaé
Artist: Echo Us (http://www.echous.net/)
Label: Independent
Time: 11 tracks/61:54 min.

Echo Us has released a well-crafted progressive album that spans a wide range of influences. Every note on this album is carefully written and played, and it shows. Nothing feels wasted or out of space, even though a lot of space is covered.

While this is most definitely rock, it is more on the mellow reflective side with a definite ambient atmosphere. To be honest, at times you feel more like you are listening to an orchestrated prog rock composition than a rock band on CD. A choral chant of “Sanctum” appears on almost every track in some way, adding to the feeling of a movement rather than a disjointed collection of pop songs.

This would appeal to fans of anything from the more atmospheric moments of prog metal to fans of more upbeat ambient music to even goth fans that appreciate the more orchestrated moments of bands like Saviour Machine. Echo Us crafts music that is strangely familiar and different at the same time, so find them online and see if their unique blend of artistry and musicianship appeals to you.
