Jenny and Tyler at the BandB -110 Jenny and Tyler in concert. Live or online. Your choice.

Jenny and Tyler were at the Burlap and Bean in Newtown Square, PA. on 12/3/11 and I was not there. I was in my living room about 120 miles away. But it felt like I was there and this is a testimony to just how good Jenny and Tyler are. Their perfomance was engaging, humorous, moving, and real. Yes, real. Even to someone observing from a distance over the internet.

They have such wonderful chemistry together. And the songwriting...song after song from this duo was extraordinary, topped off by a truly exceptional performance. And they are performers in the very best sense of the word, bringing life to the music.

Their set consisted of a mix of brand new songs off their forthcoming release, songs spanning their career, and a couple of Christmas songs. The Christmas songs were not ordinary selections. It's not often you hear a folk duo sing Handel ("For Unto Us A Child Is Born").

E Pierce at the BandB 9090Ethan Pierce presented a nice opening set of music. One of the songs Ethan presented dealt with the issue of human trafficking, a topic that continues to need exposure. He is definitely someone to watch in the future.

As it turned out, I was able to experience an evening of music that I would not have been able to without today's technology. The possibilities and realities of streaming concerts over the internet are here to stay. Sometimes it works, sometimes it does not. But the intimate atmosphere of a venue like the Burlap and Bean is a perfect setting, and the the Burlap and Bean crew did a excellent job of presenting the concert.

Take advantage of this technology to experience live concerts that you would not previously have been able to. And remember to bring your headphones.
