“Summer’s here and the time is right for dancing in the streets”
…dancing, not running in the streets, not playing tag in the streets, not running with scissors in the street, dancing…just dancing. Actually dancing’s not so safe either unless it’s a closed off street with no traffic and is being used for a street party for example. A street party with limited alcohol but maybe a boom box to keep the music flowing. Actually that doesn’t sound so safe either…generally speaking you want to stay out of the street altogether, unless you are of age to drive but even then, don’t text and stay off the phone too. It’s dangerous out there!
Drive at a reasonable speed always keeping your eyes on the road and one foot on the brake.
Excellent advice, but I’m getting ‘way’ off track here.
It IS the Summer and the time is ripe for long car drives with frequent trips to say, an ice cream joint…you’ve got to remain cool, ‘cause it’s HOT out there!! And it’s going to get hotter…
Btw, just want to mention that this month (June) is the 9th, that’s right, the 9th anniversary of this music and movie release list, column, what have you, known as The Crossing. (Applause, cheers, general hysteria…) And, that’s a long time to be keeping track of what is being frequented in our local record stores and our online music and movie emporiums. (That last word satisfies my ridiculous word quotient.) How have things changed in 9 years, you ask? Well, there are more artists out there now than ever. I really believe that. That’s why it’s become seemingly forever in-between my postings of this here list. But, it’s all worth it! I do enjoy doing this and keeping a pulse on the ebb and flow of what is happening in the vast worlds of music and movies. It’s like two galaxies out there and I’ve got to reel them in, take some bites out of them and present to you fine folks what would seem to be the finer points in both worlds, although I struggle with leaving anything out!! As I’m sure you’ve all caught on to. ;-)
Again, below, is another lengthy list filled with familiar names and some not so familiar. You’ll have to figure out who is who. And who is worth listening to…always a challenge!
For help with this challenge, be sure to ‘like’ The Crossing on Facebook. It’s all the rage!
