![]() Unpretty Author: Sharon Carter Rogers Publisher: Howard Fiction Pages: 302 First of all let me clarify something right away, Unpretty is not a book about Dr. Tony Shore in a bathing suit. That would fall under the category of a horror story, this on the other hand is a brilliantly woven suspense thriller. Sharon Carter Rogers has delivered to us her second novel and it is a wonderful follow-up to her debut entitled Sinner. Within the pages of Unpretty we find one of the most diabolical villains in recent literature. Without revealing any details let me just say this guy is really the living definition of being a bad dude with a capitol B. Much like in a movie by film master Alfred Hitchcock, the characters in this story are drawn into a web of intrigue and danger that they have no control over. I have never been a really big conspiracy buff but this story makes it all seem much too plausible. Isn't that though the sign of a great author, to make us believe the unbelievable. If that is true, then Sharon Carter Rogers has achieved greatness. Unpretty is a book that I had a hard time putting down and was truly disappointed when I finally came to the end. Or was it the end?
