![]() Your Chariot Awaits Author: Lorena McCourtney Publisher: Thomas Nelson Length: 312 pages In the course of one week, Andi McConnell turns 60, loses her job due to a merger, and breaks up with her boyfriend. She than receives an unexpected inheritance from a very eccentric uncle (Ned Nickerson??? Is the author a Nancy Drew fan?)--a sleek black stretch limo. Andi isn't quite sure what she's going to do with the limo, but less than 12 hours after receiving the vehicle, her ex-boyfriend's body is found in the trunk. As the prime suspect, Andi wants to prove her innocence, so she joins forces with a nosy but charming former TV private eye in a hilarious attempt to find the killer. I am an avid mystery reader, but this is my first Christian mystery. I knew they exist, but they aren't readily available at Borders, etc. I hesitate to order them from Amazon, as I not sure they can compete in the general market. This book put those questions to rest. Andi isn't a Christian. but her young friend Joella is. However, one won't need to be a Christian to enjoy the book. The characters are well-developed, real, and interesting. The plot is well-developed and keeps the reader guessing. A wonderfully fun book to read, I love all the characters in this book. Andi, Fitz, and Joella seem like an unlikely threesome that end up getting along well together. I hope to see more of them in the future, including Joella, who seems to be making her exit at the end of this mystery. Shari Lloyd 12/4/2007
