The Phantom Tollbooth Top 10 votes are cast, compiled and now reported to let you know what you listened to in April 2005. Many folks are evidently listening to and really enjoying the same titles. Why? We have a three-way tie for number five, shared between the self-titled project from Ollabelle, Roper's Brace Yourself for the Mediocre (technically up one notch from last month's survey), and Starflyer 59's Talking Voice vs. Singing Voice, Ashley Cleveland's Men and Angels Say moves to number two, and Sonia V is steady at number three. Newcomers (in addition to Ollabelle and SF59) include Blind Boys of Alabama, Jars of Clay, Out of Eden, and--drum roll, please--Bill Mallonee's latest project, Friendly Fire, in the top slot. The vote count was tight this time, as older projects in the runners-up category were close to nabbing a notch in the Top 10. So . . . remember to tell us what you've been listening to in the month of May by voting in next month's Top 10 survey. Every vote counts! Here are the results of the April 2005 Top 10 survey: 1.
