Stand Up and Surrender

Label: M2.0 Records/ATF/Pamplin
Length: 11 tracks / 45:52 minutes

Oh Jesus
So Close
Hands and Feet

Acquire the Fire conferences have been well attended by young people and youth leaders around the country. The events, which mix passionate worship with a challenge for young people to reach their generation for Christ, are led by Teen Mania founder and president Ron Luce, who also leads the ATF band. This disc was recorded at several of last year's Acquire the Fire events, including the Superdome meeting, ATF's biggest conference of the year.

Production by David Zaffiro (Bloodgood, Miss Angie), sparkles. The audience is well up in the mix, adding a feel that you are there. The songs come from a variety of sources including the Mercy/Vineyard group ("Who Is This"), and Third Day ("Praise Song"). Somehow, though, this disc doesn't quite capture the spark of live ATF worship. For one thing, it sounds too much like most of the other live praise and worship discs on the market, such as the Integrity discs. There isn't anything that says, "This is a unique worship experience. "Still, I find myself singing along and worshipping God with this disc.

Pick it up. Spin it. Worship God with it. Just don't expect it to be an indispensable part of your worship time.
